Dr Bessent will discuss the balance of food, exploring how it factors into health and disease, and how nutrition can be used not only to help keep a pet healthy but to heal an unhealthy pet. The Tao of Food will also touch on other influencers in food energetics including species, carbohydrates, taurine, and seasons.
Chris Bessent DVM, founder of Herbsmith Inc and The Simple Food Project, practices holistic veterinary medicine using Chinese herbs, acupuncture. food therapy and chiropractic on all animals. After more than a decade of using Chinese herbal combinations in her practice, Dr Bessent channeled her wealth of knowledge and experience into Herbsmith Inc.
Dr Bessent maintains a busy exclusive holistic veterinary practice in southeastern Wisconsin where she treats horses and dogs on a daily basis. In addition she teaches the benefits and wisdom of Chinese veterinary medicine through seminars, classes and internships for veterinary students. veterinarians and horse and dog owners.
Dr Bessent is also the founder of The Simple Food Project, a raw freeze-dried food for dogs made from natural whole food ingredients.
